The Czech Connection

In 1993 Rex moved to Europe and has made the Czech Republic his European home. It is not as surprising as it first sounds if you consider that Rex cames from a Czech family. All Rex's family came from Bohemia, his Dads' mother and father were from Prague and his moms' family came from Northern Bohemia. Rex feels his roots are here in the Czech Republic. As Rex puts it "When I was a child the family gatherings at Easter and Christmas were like a small Czech community. My Dad was raised near a town in Kansas called Cuba which is a Czech speaking community. My Mom grew up in Nelson, Nebraska which also has a Czech community". Rex lives in Trutnov a town in the North East and as Rex says "I plan to keep my home base in Trutnov where the air is clean, the mountains and trees are beautiful and the people are warm and friendly.

Maynard Jakobs is the pen name of Remblin' Rex, a blues man living in the Czech republic. In Framers blues he hes told the story of his youth in Los Angeles area. Building tract homes and plaing the blues in a wild and crazy time in southern California. This story was written for a friend who is a screeenwriter in Los Angeles, it is in the form of an autobiographical novel.
